Anchor
Midnight.
I’m caught in the middle of thousands and thousands of bouncing bright stars and the mighty Pacific Ocean. Everything moves. Everything.
Archimedes once said that if he would have a fixed point he would be able to turn the Universe up side down. He needed an anchor. Every boat uses an anchor. Some are better than others. But one thing is for certain, in a world always in motion we all need a fixed, solid anchor.
We are at sea for 8 hours now from Bahia Asuncion to Bahia Magdalena going down the coast of Baja California in Mexico. A passage of more than 30 hours. Head sail up…average of 6 Kts speed…138° course.
Before every passage or expedition, as they still say in maritime language, we let someone know our intentions. Someone on land. Someone we trust to do the right thing in case of emergency. That person becomes our anchor.
Our trusted fixed point in a world of permanent motion. Without one you might feel lost.
Thank you my brother.
