Hi. My name is Samba.
Samba. This pretty name was given to me by first mom, the lovely Lavinia Steer. She saw my potential as a pageant queen right away. Officially I go by ‘Kissable of Happytails’, but you can call me Samba.
I don’t want to bore you with stories about my kids but then thats a mommy’s prerogative to brag, so one of my sons became world vice champion all the way in Australia and daughters and sons of mine show in competitions all over the world, Canada, Poland, France. Je suis înternational…
My kids or not my kids, I like telling all dogs what I think and how they should behave. First of all I am a terrier and I should know best! Terriers know and they don’t fight, they insist.
And then I met my now mom. She adopted me because my first mom got sick and looked for a home for me. I miss her when I think of her. My now mom keeps me busy though. First she took me to live with her in Bucharest. I am her first dog but somehow she heard somewhere how to train me. So, I partly surrender, mostly to please her because she is nice to me. She takes me everywhere. I traveled to Berlin and all over Germany. I met her family, didn’t pee on any of the carpets, I do know when it is ok to do it or not. That would have made my new mom too mad. And then some months later she gave me a sleepy pill and I woke up in California. And now I am on a sailing yacht!
My retirement has been grand by all standards. I am 13 and a half. I am an old girl and proud of it! Golden, if you want. I might not have the best teeth anymore nor can I hear, not that I ever really listened anyway – did I mention that I am a terrier?
My arthritis is keeping me from doing my signature 360 twirls when I meet a boy, a man, a grandpa, any male dog really. But life is good and I don’t bitch at girls, women, grandmas, female dogs anymore. I wanted to submit those females all my life but now who cares about gender? I am old enough to know that dogs are dogs and that I actually enjoy everyone’s company.
This is my blog. Samba’s blog. On life on board a sailing yacht, being carried around by my humans, about sailing and tasting salty air and being a salty old girl.
Enjoy!
