Project Cruiser’s Life 01: Cherry + Alec Yarrow on SV Rainbow Gipsy
01. Interview with Cherry and Alec Yarrow on SV Rainbow Gipsy/South Africa.
This amazing couple has been on the seas since 2008. Starting in South Africa, they sailed through Asia to China, Japan, the Northern Pacific to Alaska and south to San Diego, where we met and interviewed them in spring of 2015. Our paths crossed again in January of 2017 in La Cruz/Banderas Bay, on their way down to Barra Navidad, where they have settled on land and sold their beloved Rainbow Gipsy, for health reasons.

This is the 1st in a series of interviews with full time cruisers about their life, the reality of cruising, their experiences and dreams. When we started thinking about sailing around the world, we searched the internet for information on how it really is and we took every chance we got to talk to sailors and cruisers. While we were outfitting our boat in a marina in San Diego, we filmed our first interviews and continued after we cut the lines. The 11 questions frame what we wanted to know. We hope you find the information valuable and inspirational.
